The Society of Arts + Crafts
The who: I currently work as a Design and Marketing intern at The Society of Arts + Crafts, a non-profit art gallery in Boston that supports independent craft artists, and holds biannual craft fairs that exhibit over 175 artists from around the world.
The what: Print and digital collateral for exhibitions and the holiday craft fair (CraftBoston Holiday), environmental designs such as signage and vinyl for exhibitions, and editorial designs such as brochures and programs.
I’ve designed over two dozen ads for CraftBoston Holiday and various exhibitions (two are pictured above), which are printed in local magazines and newspapers including Art New England, Artscope, The Boston Globe, The Improper Bostonian, and Playbill.
Environmental designs I’ve worked on includes multiple signs displayed at the gallery’s entrance (pictured above), as well as vinyl text and wayfinding signage for two highly anticipated exhibitions, and signage for the entrance to CraftBoston Holiday.
In addition to all the signage for CraftBoston Holiday, the Society’s largest event of the year, I also designed their 44-page program—complete with the event’s new identity/color palette, a complex typographic system, ads, and the information of the nearly 200 artists participating.
Collateral for exhibitions and CraftBoston Holiday includes postcards (pictured above), programs, tickets, social media packages, and email graphics.
I was also in charge of designing a sponsorship proposal document to be given to a big potential sponsor, outlining information on what the Society does and the benefits of a sponsorship.
